Proof positive that tobacco companies targeted kids -- this is brilliant!
I guess Fred-N-Barney made up for it with Flintstones Vitamins. Now if I could only get my kids to understand who the Flintstones even were...

________________________WOW! That was awesome. I'm reblogging it. Best video I've seen on Apollo Pony yet. LOL
a) the apparent sexism, very funny, the era before we all became spinelessly politically correct. what fun :)
b) the fact that it's targeted exclusively at kids! WOW, what more can you say!
c) the over the top corporate whoring, even if this wasn't aimed at kids it'd still amazing to see such blatent advertiser schmoozing.
It was a simpler time that's for sure. The Simpson's or South Park make the Flinstones look quaint in all other respecs, but heh, we don't stand for such blatent advertiser schmoozing, and the targeting of cigarettes to minors or anyone else for that matter.
Instead we have Towlie, a pot smoking, drug addicted towel that's always looking to get high with grade schoolers.
It's a wonderful world!
The only question is, what year was it? I wonder if I can track it down.

________________________The Flintstones was the first prime-time cartoon and was actually targeted more towards adults. Sort of like a beer commercial during the Simpsons, but more carcinogenic.

________________________I couldn't get vision in quicktime and there doesn't seem to be a codec on the quicktime server. What a shame!. Are there any other versions of this video out there so that I can see the video?
