Sony-Bravia Bouncing BallsWho cares that it's calling attention to a TV set, this Sony advertisement is absolutely wonderful in-and-of-itself. It's likely you already knew about the commercial or have even seen some of the 250,000 bouncy balls months ago, but it was just released this week. Behind the scene interviews. The I-feel-like-I'm-floating-and-everything-is-calm-and-serence music is "heartbeats" by José González. Trailers | November 9, 2005 12:29 PM | Comments (4) |

Alternate Titanic TrailerIn the wake of popularity from the newfound love of remixing movie trailers (see the shining remix), this alternative version of the classic blockbuster love story, "The Titanic", portrays a horror story that likely would not have done quite as well at the box office. Check out the P.S.260 kids for more like fun (neat website too). Additional info, interview, etc. at Tattered Coat. Trailers | October 22, 2005 2:52 PM | Comments (0) |

UncomplicateNew Levis commercial. This is a perfect example of an interesting and well done work that finishes with a product that could just as well be any product. Isn't it Cool in Pink? What can you say about this one. It's a time encapsulated treasure. After the shock of it wears off about 8 seconds in I burst into laughter like a little kid, "Do it again, do it again." ...yeah, that's Matt LeBlanc ...yeah, that's right, the TV show Friends. :) Trailers | May 31, 2005 7:06 PM | Comments (1) |

Welcome to Stunt City - silly ad, contagious adWhat if stunt men ruled the world? Enjoy this little scenario. Oh, and yeah, it's an ad. It's even a deodorant ad, and I don't care because it's freggin' awesome. What's so evil about ads anyway? Is it that they a) suck and b) we can't shut them off? Well, you a) can shut this one off anytime you like, but it also b) doesn't suck. Suddenly the game changes. Maybe if we all blogged about stuff we love regardless of whether it was commercial or not there'd suddenly be a new economy for adverting, a world where ads don't suck, a world where ads find their appropriate market without stinking up the global namespace (or screenspace). Perhaps the ads that suck will be disincentived because people will ignore them. Perhaps ads that don't suck will get talked about and traded like this one, because when you promote the things you like you encourage them. Perhaps this is why contagious media rocks. Perhaps in the future, all media will be contagious. Trailers | May 24, 2005 8:11 PM | Comments (2) |

Turn your iPod into a portable video playerJust stumbled upon this sweet gadget, the Nyko MoviePlayer. It turns your iPod into a video player. With the recent iTunes update now supporting videos this little puppy makes a whole lot of sense. It appears to use the iPod as a storage unit and adds a HD color screen, controls, playback software/hardware, speakers and some additional battery juice. And while its not available yet in the US market I'll bet it's going to be a lot cheaper and a whole lot more handy than buying a second iPod-like device for just video. Then again, maybe the next Apple iPod will play video. Hello? Apple? BTW, It appears to play all the major formats including MPEG, QT and WMV with the single exception of Real Player Format, so it can handle just about anything. Personally, I want one yesterday. :) more info Trailers | May 23, 2005 11:45 AM | Comments (5) |
